MISSION CHRISTMAS

We supported HallamFM’s cash for kids appeal collecting gifts for children in our area that would otherwise not have a gift to open on Christmas Day. We have created a gingerbread Christmas tree with the cash for kids logo which we are selling to raise funds as well as involving the staff and customers with sponsorship for bungee jumps, football matches, cycle relays, singing and dress up days. Watch this space for our total donation to this worthwhile event!!!

Most Loved Baker in the North & Yorkshire

It’s official! We have been voted the Most Loved Bakery in the North & Yorkshire region by our customers in a campaign run by the Craft Bakers Association for Craft Bakers Week. The campaign is run to raise awareness about craft baking and raise funds for the Make-A-Wish UK charity. With lots of competitions in our shops the whole week was enjoyed by staff as well as customers. A massive thanks goes out to Simply Skate, Treasure Island & Butterfly House for donating some fab star prizes all proceeds going to Make-A-Wish UK who make wishes come true for children with life threatening illnesses. Did anyone hear us on Radio Sheffield with Andy Kershaw?

Brook Bakery Awarded Salsa Accreditation

BROOK BAKERY has been awarded the prestigious SALSA accreditation for the 5th year running. SALSA is a food-safety standard written by experienced food safety experts to reflect both the legal requirements of producers and the enhanced expectations of ‘best practice’ of professional food buyers. SALSA certification is only granted to suppliers who are able to demonstrate to an auditor that they are able to produce safe and legal food and are committed to continually meeting the requirements of the SALSA Standard. SALSA was developed specifically for buyers and smaller food producers who need to demonstrate that they operate to standards that are recognised and accepted across the industry and exceed the minimum standards expected by enforcement authorities. SALSA stands for Safe And Local Supplier Approval. Well done us!!!

New Longer Life Products

We are now baking loaf cakes, muffins, squares, traybakes and gingerbread all within our new longer life range. These products are packaged individually and labeled to new EHO and Trading Standards health & Safety guidelines. Available in larger boxes for safe delivery and your convenience. With the longer life you can keep a box under the counter to re-stock – and never run out again!

We have Flapjack, Chocolate Flapjack, Chocolate Fudge, Lemon Drizzle Cake, Topped Carrot Cake, Caramel Shortbread (Millionaires), and our famous Chocolate Brownie all available in both individual pre-packed squares or traybakes that you can portion yourselves. We also bake a Sultana Nutty Square and have Lemon Drizzle, Chocolate Chip & Double Choc Chip in both Muffins and Loaf Cakes, with a Ginger Sensation and Cherry Madeira also in the loaf cakes. Our newest edition to the range a a traditional recipe of Yorkshire Parkin. The only decision to make is which one to taste first!

New Bakery Now Complete

A new chapter at Brook Bakery

Work has now been completed on our new 22,000 sq ft purpose-built bakery that was just a shell when we acquired it. It has taken six years to complete, adding new machinery as we went along and every penny made has been reinvested, with most of the work being done by John and his family. The outcome is well worth the wait: on the 12 March, 2012, another chapter opened for Brook Bakery when all the staff arrived for work in the new premises. 

There are now 3 separate departments with scope for a massive increase in production with bakers working shifts to create the products needed. From a humble shop in Shiregreen to a fleet of six vans delivering to wholesale customers around Sheffield, Rotherham & Barnsley, supplying wholesalers throughout the UK, five retail shops (the fifth opened in Woodhouse, sheffield in March 2015), and 53 staff. And we’re still growing!
