This is a fantastic opportunity for someone from a bakery background to take control of the daily operations, be a constant presence on the shop floor, lead an enthusiastic and supportive team to deliver outstanding products to our customers. This is a very hands-on shop floor team-based position.
The Role:
Reporting to our Bakery Manager, you will be responsible for:
- Leading day-to-day operations across the production process working alongside the team
- Ensuring compliance of food safety standards, hygiene regulations and other company policies
- Overseeing stock control and rotation of ingredients
- Uphold Health & Safety Policy reporting any issues
- Working with the quality team across product ranges, identifying and resolving issues and reducing waste
- Assist with onboarding of new products with NPD
- Responsible for staffing levels and operational costs of labour
- Leading, guiding and developing all bakery staff creating a highly motivated and creative team whilst maximising efficiency
- Monitor and reviewing staff performance, manage task allocation and set deadlines
- Supporting the leadership team on strategic objectives, project planning and continuous improvement initiatives
- Communicating and reporting on projects, targets and production
- Promote safe working practices and maintain a clean, organised production area
- Reporting on maintenance issues and problems
The Person is:
- From a bakery background with a minimum of 3 years management experience
- Has a working knowledge of food standards
- A strong leader to make decisions and guide staff
- Exceptional at time management
- Excellent organisational skills to manage tasks ensuring smooth process
- Strong problem-solving skills to identify and solve issues with effective solutions
- Effective at verbal and written communication
- Capable of adjusting strategies in response to unexpected changes
- Strong teamwork approach to work effectively with all teams
